Hi, I’m Tyler. I’m an Oregon native and was inspired by this gorgeous state to capture those little moments all around us.
I believe the best wedding photography is candid.
I believe the best wedding photography captures the unplanned moments, when you two are yourselves.
I believe the best wedding photography captures your wedding day in its entirety.
I believe the best wedding photography tells the story of your day in the most wonderful way possible.
I believe the best wedding photography happens when you forget the camera is there and enjoy your day.
Your prices are much lower than other wedding photographers, why is that?
Simply, I am new to wedding photography. I cherish this beginning, it is not everyday you get to start your dream job. My commitment to you is that I will be there in a manner not reflective of my price but to make your day, in every way possible way, in the most beautiful day possible.
Let’s setup a mini session, a sort of trial go at it, to ensure that you are not only comfortable with my style and approach, but also with me as your photographer.
How do we book you?
Start by sending me a message. We can then connect about your special day and dive in to those wonderful details. To secure your date, a 30% retainer is required along with a signed contract (to make it easy, I use a digital contract). The remaining amount is due 60 days prior to your wedding day.
You can learn more about pricing here.
When should we book you?
It is never too late to inquire about my availability. I currently have availability through the end of the year.
For your wedding, it's generally a good idea to start connecting 12 months before your wedding day; usually just after you select your venue.
For small weddings and elopements, I book as late as the week of and as early as a year out..
For engagements and proposals, I am available as late as the week of, but suggest connecting two weeks to a month out.
What do we receive as the final result?
You will receive a complete set of edited high-resolution JPEG photos.
The editing process is an important step in any photoshoot. During your wedding or event, all images are captured in a RAW image format to ensure the highest quality and detail. While RAW photos provide the highest quality, they lack the post-processing seen in a typical photo captured on a camera or phone. The editing process allows me to manually adjust each photo to bring out its’ full potential in a way not possible in a non-RAW image format. The photos are then converted to JPEG to allow easy viewing and sharing.
How many photos do we receive?
I don’t set a specific limit on the number of photos provided as I believe each story has its’ own length and I will capture the photos necessary to tell that story. While every wedding and engagement session is unique and the actual number of photos delivered may vary, here is a rough estimate of the number of photos:
For a full day wedding you can typically anticipate receiving between 800 and 1,200 photos. For a better estimate of the number of photos for your special day, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
For a small wedding or elopement the number of photos provided is heavily dependent on the day’s events and the duration of the wedding. Please contact me for more details.
For an engagement or proposal session, you can anticipate between 120 and 250 photos. However, outfit or location changes will decrease the amount of time available for photos in your session and, therefore, the number of photos.
How quickly do we receive our photos?
You will receive your final photos within three weeks after your event. This time allows me to individually review your photos and make all necessary edits and adjustments.
However, I know how eager you will be to see your photos and I aim to complete the final edits as quickly as possible.
How do we receive our photos?
To make sharing your wonderful photos as easy as possible, I will provide you photos in three different ways.
You will receive a link to an online file storage site where you can securely download your photos. You can also share the link with family and friends, allowing them to easily see your photos. But who wants to wait for their wedding photos to download.
I will also send you a USB memory stick with a complete set of your photos. But what about family and friends who also can’t wait on photos to download.
I will also send you a link to an online gallery of your photos that is super easy to share.
Do we get printing rights?
Absolutely! I provide high-resolution images that are perfect for printing and sharing on social media. All photos come with full rights for personal usage including printing and sharing as you wish.
For commercial usage, please contact me so that we can dive deeper into licensing and rights management.
Do you offer prints and albums?
I currently do not offer printing only because I do not feel that there is a significant enough value that I could provide you about working directly with a printer. However, I am always more than happy to consult on prints, recommend a printer, and do everything I can to make your photos as magical as they deserve.
I am also more than happy to collaborate with you to develop an album or book of your wedding. Due to the complexity of a photo book, there is an additional cost associated with creating a photo book or album. Please contact me for more details.
Do we only need a photographer for the ceremony?
Your wedding day is the beginning of a wonderful new adventure together. From that moment your parents first see you in your wedding dress to your grand exit as everyone is there wishing you nothing but the best on your new adventure together, I believe that beginning is not one single moment of the day, but is the accumulation of a thousand moments telling the story of that day.
What if we feel nervous in front of the camera?
Don’t Panic. Your only responsibility is to have fun and enjoy the moment. I believe the best wedding photography is candid; a witness to your wonderful celebration. But sometimes you must also capture a specific moment. When capturing these must-have shots, I believe more in creating the moment than setting a specific pose; in letting that special shot come naturally. I believe this approach allows you to feel comfortable in being yourself in a way that posing every little detail cannot achieve. My job is to tell your story as you create it.
I am more than happy to meet for a mini session to ensure that you feel comfortable. Shoot me a message if you want to get the jitters out.
Should we ask guests not to photograph the ceremony?
I believe your guests’ first and foremost role is to have fun and celebrate the two of you on this momentous day. To that goal, I feel it can be helpful to let your guests know that a professional photographer will be documenting your wedding so that your guests can feel confident that special moment they are witnessing will be captured for the future.
One special note for some religious ceremonies, the church and officiant may ask that select moments of the ceremony are not photographed out of respect. I will always connect with the officiant prior to the wedding ceremony to ensure that your wedding day is captured in the most respectful way possible.
Do you offer an option for a second photographer?
Yes, I have a colleague whom I have worked with for a number of years and absolutely love her style. Let’s connect to talk about your event and our availability.
What type of equipment do you use?
I work with professional-grade Canon cameras and lenses. I have grown-up shooting on Canon and love their color science and the sharpness of their lenses. I shoot a range of focal-lengths from wide-angle to telephoto on zoom and prime lenses. I will also occasionally mix in a flash or light, but shoot natural light whenever possible.
Do you have backup equipment?
Of course! I always bring multiple camera bodies, lenses, batteries, memory cards, clothes, shoes, and band-aids. While I have never had a failure, my primary camera body shoots to two memory cards so that the instant a photo is captured, it is backed up.
For such an important and one-of-a-kind event as your wedding, any professional photographer should have backup cameras and equipment. There is no room for error.
How far will you travel and is there an added cost for travel?
I have a passport and am ready to fly. However, most of my bookings are within Oregon and I am based in Eugene. But whether it’s Hobbit Beach on the coast, a peak in the Cascades, the riverfront in Portland, or Lithia Park in Ashland, I am ready to go.
Due to the added time and cost, there may be an additional travel charge depending on the event location. While the specific cost is dependent on the location, generally there is no additional cost for events within 40 miles of Eugene. Please contact me for a detailed quote for your specific event.
Do you photograph other events, besides weddings?
My primary focus is wedding and engagement photography.
